Lögdeå, located halfway between Umeå and Örnsköldsvik, is now home to one of Sweden's largest unmanned stores. The store operates under the Lifvs brand and is powered by Storekey's technical platform. Lifvs is Sweden's largest chain of unmanned grocery stores, aiming to open shops where they are most needed. This includes remote areas and archipelagos that have long lacked accessible trade. Lifvs is fully powered by Storekey's technical platform, providing a complete solution for both retailers and customers.
With the support of Storekey's technical platform, Lifvs continues to open unmanned stores across Sweden. In Lögdeå, a community of about 500 inhabitants located between Umeå and Örnsköldsvik, there has long been a lack of a grocery store. Residents had to travel about 8 km to shop for groceries - until now. Lifvs' largest store to date has now opened in Lögdeå and, with its 200 square meters, it offers the same assortment we are used to seeing in larger grocery stores. The approach has proven to work very well.
The local heroes behind the re-establishment of a store in Lögdeå are Jörgen and Pauline Nilsson who saw a significant need for a store in their hometown. The couple had no prior experience in running a grocery store, but they are now Lifvs franchisees and the only shopkeepers in the village. The 200 square meter space previously housed a grocery store, but that was over 6 years ago. Hence, the opening was eagerly awaited by the local residents.
The opening has been very successful, confirming that even large retail spaces can be effectively managed within the concept of unmanned stores. It also shows that as a franchisee, you don't need previous retail experience. With Storekey and Lifvs, you have the tools you need to open an unmanned store.
